Travelodge sex assault victim calls for mandatory hotel security guidelines
Überblick
A woman who was sexually assaulted in 2022 at a Travelodge in Maidenhead after her attacker was given a room key has called for mandatory government-regulated hotel security guidelines. An independent review by Paul Greaney KC found that Travelodge's security policies at the time were not fit for purpose and that room intrusions were still reported at nearly one in ten hotels over the summer. Travelodge has apologised unreservedly, stated it has made significant changes, and announced a new board committee to oversee security progress.
