Taunton Brewhouse theatre to permanently close with 23 jobs lost
Überblick
The Taunton Brewhouse theatre is set to permanently close on 31 October due to serious financial difficulties, resulting in 23 redundancies. The Taunton Theatre Association needed to raise approximately £150,000 to bridge a funding gap after Somerset Council stopped its annual funding of £132,000 in 2025. Although Taunton Town Council provided £100,000 a year beginning earlier in 2026, it was insufficient to cover maintenance and insurance costs.
