Demolition plans for Sunderland's 3Ls tower blocks to be submitted by Gentoo

Overview

Plans to demolish the Lambton, Londonderry, and Lumley Towers (known as the 3Ls) in Sunderland's East End are set to be submitted by housing association Gentoo. The demolition option was chosen in August last year to avoid large repair costs, with alternative strengthening and safety work estimated at significantly higher prices. Gentoo has confirmed that out of 214 flats, only one resident remains to be rehoused.
